    Primary Duties and Responsibilities for Current Position :

  1. Apply lean fundamentals and tools to plan line balancing, standard work, product family assignment, work content timing, cell layout ,material flow efficiency, continuous flow optimization and equipment utilization to improve efficiency and productivity.
  2. Plans and Leads Lean initiatives in the area including Kaizen events, projects and immediate implementation of improvements (Just Do Its).
  3. Identify and drive improvements in productivity, yield, scrap, rework, and down time to achieve operational objectives.
  4. Work with the machining department and assist in problem solving, corrective actions and preventive actions as a result of process quality problems in the assembly line.
  5. Leverage  production equipment vendors to determine equipment application and utilization  manage purchasing and implementation process.
  6. Reviews and coordinates disposition of nonconforming material. Coordinates and drive supplier corrective actions with the buyer including chargeback for rework.
  7. Responsible for overall product quality.
  8. Works with the Quality Engineer to resolve customer initiated Corrective Actions related to manufacturing or material defects.
  9. Reviews and approves ECNs for manufacturability and design to cost objectives.
  10. Coordinates the design and procurement of manufacturing fixtures, tooling, gauges, and test equipment integral to the manufacturing process.
  11. Develops work instructions, drawings, tests, modifications, assembly processes, fixtures, processes or specialized manufacturing and test equipment for existing or new products.
  12. Interface with design during the new product development process to ensure smooth and efficient product launch.
  13. Proficient use of Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
  14. Communicates significant issues or developments identified during manufacturing engineering activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
  15. Interface with maintenance to troubleshoot equipment  problems.
  16. Recommend, specify and implement new technology and technological enhancements into the manufacturing operations.
